“Danny Blu Surrenders to the Dance Floor on ‘Heartbeat’ - PopDust

“New York City artist Danny Blu pushes dark pop into confrontational territory with Faithless, a club-ready call for rebellion built on industrial textures, pulsing bass and sharply theatrical vocals.” - Fame Magazine

“His version of dark pop is theatrical. Sexual. Industrial. Queer. Confrontational enough to feel almost physical. Rather than smoothing the edges between underground alternative culture and pop accessibility, the New York City artist has built a career around making those collisions louder. Industrial noise can coexist with enormous hooks. Horror can become camp. Trauma can become spectacle. A club track can become political commentary without surrendering the part that makes people want to move.” - Mundane Magazine

“Some versions of nightlife are only described from the outside, usually by people who need it to be glamorous, dangerous, or doomed. Danny Blu’s “Heartbeat” comes from much closer to the floor. It is about the part of the night where the room gets loud enough that whatever you walked in carrying starts to loosen, and for a few minutes the whole point is just bodies, lights, sweat, bass, desire, and the relief of not having to explain yourself.” - Magnetic Magazine

“Blu is the perfect embodiment of the wild diversity of the NYC queer scene…highly catchy kaleidoscope of dark pop, New Wave, and industrial – as if Erasure, Scissor Sisters and Nitzer Ebb decided to join forces.” - Post-Punk.com

“Danny Blu doesn’t want anything to be misconstrued -- he is a queer man making intensely dark pop-rock music, and he won’t tone anything down for the sake of anyone’s sensitivities.” - Billboard Pride

“Danny Blu wards off anxiety by projecting his voice of positivity and change in his infectious new track, White (K)night.” - Alternative Press

”I see the term “industrial pop” used a lot these days, but Danny Blu’s music embodies that phrase better than any other artist.” - Synthpop Fanatic

“…raw emotion and sass back into the dark-pop genre. This [EP] crackles with mid-tempo dance beats to fill the back walls of the club. Personal soul threaded into club kid sleek trance.” - Sounds & Shadows | S+S Top Postpunk/Synthwave/Darkpop Albums of 2020

"[Burn]--a haunting, ’90s-indebted dark-pop ballad that’s heavy on the doom." - New Now Next / Logo TV

”Like a shiny, lascivious hard candy, Blu’s tunes contain the sugary sweetness of pop with the tooth-mashing, always-a-choking-risk of industrial and metal; it’s a candy first and foremost, but it’s not without some bite. The darkwave, electropop cornucopia of the EP is precisely channelled in the single White (K)night.” - V13 / Stereo Six

“well produced, well written, and an ideal example of what can be referred to as industrial pop…The Pale Horse is a record that, while straightforward, is very much a reflective self-expression of Danny Blu and carries bold messaging designed to make waves.” - ReGen

“His work is dark enough to appeal to alternative music fans, while being accessible enough to be enjoyed by the general public. That’s not selling out, it’s frankly genius.” - Crypt Teaze

“Danny Blu proves that goth is alive, well, and hella queer.” - Pride.com

“more than just the alt-rock experience by infusing the electric political climate of the time into their already emotionally charged music” - Popdust

“In an age of politically-charged music, listeners demand more from their artists…Danny Blu insists they're up for the challenge.” - Billboard

ABOUT

New York, New York

Danny Blu is the sonic embodiment of rebellion—an NYC-based dark pop and industrial pop artist who blends theatrical visuals with unfiltered emotion. Known for his explosive live performances and genre-bending sound, Blu crafts cathartic anthems for the outcasts, the misfits, and anyone who’s ever felt too much.

A proud voice in the LGBTQ+ and alt music communities, Danny channels pain, power, and transformation into every lyric. From haunting synths to searing guitar lines, his music blurs the lines between industrial rock, synth-pop, and electronic chaos—drawing comparisons to artists like Poppy, Nine Inch Nails, Lady Gaga, and IAMX.

With songs that explore themes of identity, trauma, queerness, and rebirth, Danny Blu doesn’t just perform—he purges. His music is a battle cry against conformity and a celebration of beautiful defiance.

Having shared stages with artists across the alternative and underground music spectrum, Blu continues to carve his own space in the dark pop world—where intensity meets vulnerability, and the stage becomes a sanctuary.
